I have to admit, I was rather liberal with that quote and Gin isn't as 'grey' as I'd have liked. Hopefully it still works. : P Also, seeing as it's almost 1800 words this could hardly be called a drabble. *sigh*

You know, it's been so long since I really got into a new fandom that I'd forgotten how terrifying it is. Bleach is awesome, it really is, especially because - as long as you stay away from the Ichigo/Orihime = canon | Rukia/Ichigo = canon debate - there seems to be a very relaxed atmosphere when it comes to who you ship. I have yet to encounter flamewars about that, while in my other main fandom - wrestling - that happened a lot more frequently than I'd like it to.
However, finding your way around is a bit intimidating as well. I know very few people - am working on that, though! - and I don't yet know the unofficial rules. Normally I love reviewing, but lately I've been very hesitant about reviewing in this fandom. I'm the type who is very frank about things and I almost always give concrit where I think it would help, but I'm not sure if that would be appreciated here. I have yet to see more than a handful comments that weren't completely filled with praise. (Which isn't to say I don't think those reviews should be given, it just means that I'm not sure if concrit is expected/appreciated in this fandom.)
I know that in the wrestling fandom you got a lot of shit for giving concrit, to the point where people would put 'no concrit, please' in their headers, so I was wondering what the deal is here. Is it appreciated, or is it likely to get me into trouble with the locals? XD

I haven't bothered trying to translate it - seeing as I'm only on chapter three of my 'teach yourself Japanese' and could only embarrass myself - but just the mere mention of it and the related picture makes me a very happy bunny!
(I'm guessing he's talking about meeting up with some of his Burimyu colleagues, but I really don't know. *picks up study book again*)

Fic.
I need some input on my characterisation of Nanao. I've finished a chapter or two for the Zaraki/Nanao fic I'm working on - also due to yesterday's wordwar I did, which added 900+ words and finished a chapter - but I'm not sure yet if my Nanao voice works. Writing Zaraki is easy, but she's just a bit more...intricate.

Gah, I just can't believe how much I hate people for blowing up the Renji/Byakuya pairing the way they have. I mean, sure, there are some moments between the two, but none of them come even remotely close to being evidence of some sort of relationship. People act like this is one of those fireproof ships and act like they'd be compatible, when they really aren't. Ugh.

This is not true. I don't actually believe this. (It was a Halloween dare.) I actually love Byakuya/Renji. ;)

You know, there are days where I just worry for the Bleach fandom. Or at least the fanfiction part of it. Surely the first page of ff.net's Just In section for Bleach shouldn't include so many awkward summaries and Mary-Sues? Please tell me people confused Halloween with April Fools and are just mocking us?
However, I have time on my hands. (Sortof, anyway.) So let's have a look at a few of those Sues, shall we? (This is going to be long, so skip the cut if you're not in for a bumpy ride.)

Urahara. Not because I like the guy, because I'm pretty 'meh' about him, but between Mayuri and Gin he's somewhat sane at least. Iba bores me and being married to him would no doubt in agony in the long run. At least Urahara has layers.

Gin. He seems like the guy who would be awesome in bed. XD That and Mayuri would probably be awkwardly scientific about the whole deal, or include some of his latest experiments. So, ehm, no. Though I love you, crazy fucker. Gin is crazy too, but he seems the be more of a 'A wild night? Sure, let's have fun!' type of guy.

I am too amused by this icon I made. I snagged the pictures from Usui Takuya's online blog, because they had to be used.
Also, in addition, that guy is absolutely adorable. About half of the pictures posted on that blog feature his pet rabbit and the other half his co-stars, many of whom are from the Bleach musical, or scenery/food shots.

Real Life.
Just so everyone knows, I rarely talk about my personal life. Not because I don't want to, or because I don't want to share it with my flist, but I just never feel anything comes up that needs saying. So I don't do this often, but...
It's my birthday on Thursday! ^^ Which means lots of money to buy fun things. It's all anyone gives me these days, because I can never think of what to ask. *snicker* It'll be fun, though, no doubt.

Oh, boy. You know, of all the Bleach characters, Mayuri is the last one I would ever expect someone to write a Mary-Sue OC for. And this is coming from someone who adores the crazy bastard.
After the explosive force cleared, Mayuri rushed to Shirahime’s side. Even though Shirahime’s zanpaku-tos had been taken from her, just as Mayuri’s had, she could still summon the bankai of Yukihime. After all, she was Yukihime. Mayuri cradled Shirahime in his arms, tears forming at last. He had never cried before.

*snort* Now, I apologize if the author ever sees this, but the entire 'Shirahime Thorne' series - what's with that name?? - makes me twitch.

This one includes an OC Captain who is romancing Zaraki, and an OC - with the habit of sleeping around - who will end up romancing Byakuya. (Byakuya is, incidentally, also the name the main OC uses when addressing him. *bitchslaps*)

Please, to some any of my Japanese chinese! speaking flisters, what's going on here?
They have a couple of my icons posted there - hotlinked, too, which annoys me somewhat - along with a lot of other people's. Now, I don't ask for credit, so I don't mind that, but I'm just curious what the deal is, since they have so many. Is it a post pointing out icons they like/hate/can't stand, or what's going on? XD
(Goes to show I need to work harder on learning Japanese foreign languages.)(I fail...)

Fanfic Drabbles/Ficlets.
I'm working on all the prompt requests I got. Right now I'm paying particular attention to the first one I want to finish, which is cruelest_month's prompt for Mayuri/Urahara. I'm at about 600 words right now, but don't worry it's going to be longer, as I haven't even reached the prompt sentence yet. -_-
It's going slowly, but surely and I will finish one for each of you, at least.
Hmm, talking about Mayuri and Urahara, what would Urahara call the guy? Mayuri-san? I know he calls him simply Kurotsuchi Mayuri-san in the pendulum arc, but that seemed more of a Kubo set-up - to make sure we realize this is the Kurotsuchi Mayuri and give him a grand entrance - than something he'd use every day. Plus, Urahara is very easy-going, heh.
So, Mayuri-san, or simply Mayuri? Thoughts?
EDIT: As clarification, what would he call him back then. So when they worked together, not right now. ^^

Yeah, I think I'm going to stop doing icon-tests for a bit. They bring me more annoyance and disillusionment than they do enjoyment, so I'm going to focus on other things instead. Making icons is a lot more fun when you don't continuously expect your favourite kind of icon to lose.
Also, I could have sworn the rules said three icons and not five. *still befuddled at that* Maybe I'm losing it, or something.
Edit: I will be finishing my LIMS competitions, though, so don't worry to those that run them.
